Years Back Collector Chris Rhoades had taken his tapper cabinet in for a full scaning to have the sideart reproduced

This is a B-A-utiful piece of handdrawn artwork and impossible to vectorize.

Even though I dont have a Tapper myself I may just have to print one of these off to put on my Gameroom Door!

Initially this was no easy task to find someone that could do a scan that large in just one pass.
good thing he found someone as I wouldnt have wanted to be the one to stitch all that detail.
A small run was done via solvent inkjet and sold them to help recoop his costs.
And as the cycle and circle continue theres been a few people posting on KLOV recently needing this side art again.
So I contacted Chris to see if we could help make this happen again.

A special thanks to Chris for sending me his orginal disc to run some test prints and get this rolling again.

The new repros will be printed solvent inkjet same as last time on a 4mil satin finish vinyl.
This is not to be confused with another reproduction that had been done which was simply a copy of one of Chris's prints which was sold afterwards, laminated, and cheaper, or so Ive been told ; )

But Im carefully color matching this so it will be as true to the orginal as possible.
and working closely with Chris on this 2nd run project.
I printed off about 6 or 7 test prints of various color shifts, its amazing what a few percentages will do to the print.

One thing that I did notice and not sure if this is how the orginal was or if its in these scans
but notice how the text in the saloon window isnt mirrored for the flip side.

Hopefully Chris could chime in a claify this

But it dosnt end there...
Theres also the matter of ROOTBEER Tapper which is another piece of art that has not been reproduced let alone scanned as far as I know.
And as luck and fate would have as I aquired this art another local collector had approached me for RB Tapper
and will be lending me his cabinet for scannning.
Where Ill just need to scan and Stitch the top portion and splice it into Chris' orginal Tapper Scans which you can see are the same exact pieces of art look at the bevel of the counter top that the mugs sit on.

My test prints are going out in the mail today to Chris so look for these soon at thisOldGame.com

Too bad the Simpsons Tapper homebrew wasnt more popular I could draw in a Moe!

Homebrew art would be very cool. However, I wasn't overly impressed with the quality of the characters.

Awesome! I have a pretty nice ROOT BEER TAPPER. My art is pretty good, but the marquee has some fading on the red.

Believe it or not Rich, the backwards "saloon" is the way it was done. I really gave correcting this issue some serious thought but in the end, i left it as it was. BTW, for those who may be wondering how this scan was done, i literally took my cabinet completely apart to have this scanned. There was only a few inches of clearance between the scanning head and the bed that this laid on so all the the bracing was removed to get this panel to lay perfectly flat and it was captured all in one pass.

Very cool of you to coordinate with chris to get his original files. Now to pickup a tapper.
