Some neat minty ninty art. R-Type SideArt which came to me like most projects...unexpectedly.
A few months back our local PAC group (Portland Arcade Community) met up at Cjs AKA OregonArcade for some game trades and parts. Darrell AKA Charger from KLOV was the coin-op Santa Claus bringing projects and games galore for all us good little boys and girls. Myself picking up a gutted SID cabinet which will be
dissasembled and have the front kickplate art scanned and vector to add to the side art stencils.
CJ got Rtype which will proably sit next to Maneater but it had some great looking sideart and theres been some interest but no scans. So in the cold misty morning dew we slowly peeled and removed. Another big thanks to Darrel for his help and patience on this it took about an hour and wish we had pics.

A little patch work from the other side which was in much worse shape and it was ready for scanning.

Mounted down to some thin styrene it was rolled and shipped off for scanning.
I knew Chris Rhoades was about to have alot of artwork scanned so it was sent off to him along with another NOS Nintendo SideArt piece (more on that one later).
All in all we had 7 pieces of art scanned in 1 full piece which will save a ton of time not having to
stitch and align together since these were all real large pieces of side art.
I had searched around local for someplace to do large format scaning but to no aveil.
Chris had used Art Services out of Minnepolis, MN before for his Tapper SideArt project and was well worth it.
I may never scan and stich again and more on Chris's art scans and projects in the days to come.
I had the art back in hand within the week a little photshop cleanup a tweak of color and viola...
going to print almost within the hour.

Hopefully the next set of Chris scans go just as quick and smooth, stay tooned...
