One focus of my collecting is Japanese games and their incarnations as intended for Japanese arcades.

Here are some manuals I've collected:

Pat Jewett Adding Arcade Line to Vending Business

I place vending machines in many local businesses. These are often placed in break rooms. I am considering offering an arcade game or two in these settings as a way to expand my business. I think this could go over well, provide employers with a fun way to give employees a break, and of course, bring in more money for me. I don't want to require tokens and want to make it affordable for the guys on a short break. No… Continue

Robin_l Chase HQ steering

Unfortunately, the shaft from the back of the well doesn't quite meet the bearing behind. I've taken the mechanism apart, and found two rubber bushes to be very worn. Some guy at a place on the industrial estate gave me a couple of replacements, but I'm going to have to get two bolts to fit. The metal plate on which the bearing is fixed is quite bent - I'm not sure whether that's the problem or not. Continue

Paul Olson Current game pics

Here are the games currently in the garage:

Getting a different look to the arcade now. Still a work in progress, but I am really starting to like it. RB and PP are still non working projects. I can barely see the Missile Command mini in the pic.

Zim Sega Hang On Jr continued:

I have been busy at my real job. I work at a car dealership and we are moving into a new building, and I mean NEW!!! As in they are still working on it. Anyways, the only thing that I have been able to get done this far is putting the coin door together and re-installing it. Aslo put the marquee brackets and bezel brackets on after fresh paint. Here are some pics of the finished door. I chose to keep the original door as the Sega instructions for the coin mechs and serial #'s were still there

Paul Olson Missile Command Cabaret

It's like an arcade game...only smaller. :)

I was offered a trade for this, and I couldn't really turn it down. I like to play the game, although I do prefer a bigger monitor. I can't get over how small this thing is!

Paul Olson Millipede

I think I might just be the only person from my generation who never played Millipede. All I remember is seeing the funky blue boxes on the screen and thinking that there was something wrong with the game. I never bothered to risk my quarters on the game. I was 11 when the game came out, so quarters were not too plentiful.

I recently put an add on craig's list to sell my Atari Football. No bites on that yet, but I did get an email from a guy wanting to sell a Millipede "with a blown fu… Continue

Paul Olson Paperboy

I had a few games that were great for multiple players, but boring when it is just me playing. Super Offroad was one of those. I rarely have people over to play the games, so I am trying to get more fun single player games. I traded the Super Offroad for this Paperboy.

AtariToobin ニチブツムーンシャトル MULTI-CAB Progress

I'm still slowly (but surely!) making progress on the Nichibutsu Multi-Cab project.

What's been done since the last post:

- I refinished the coin door and made the blank "coin plate" using a new faceplate from Asahi-Seiko.

- Received a new 100 Yen mechanism for the coin door.

- Had 2 control panels made by 7146aaron over on KLOV, who now is taking requests for custom panels. He built me a Crazy… Continue

Tornadoboy Monaco GP mini

I have two of them actually, both are missing their board sets and supposedly have bad power supplies. I've gotten all the boards of Ebay and when I'm done with Turbo I'm going to take a crack at restoring one of them. Continue

Tornadoboy Turbo mini

2/9/10 I got a Turbo mini a few weeks ago that appears to have all its parts minus the monitor and shifter which had been sold, its main issue supposedly is the power supply.

The power supply boards were so buried in crap that the capacitors looked like they had been washed up on the shore of the Atlantic and the resistors were literally rotting off the boards, fortunately the PCBs themselves were in surprisingly good shape, all the components are stand
