Our Gameroom

My wife and I purchased a Pirates of the Caribbean pinball machine for our game room three years ago. Now we own Medieval Madness, The Getaway, Pirates of the Caribbean, Space Station, Comet, and Mata Hari. In addition we have an Ice Cold Beer, a 1XXX-in-1 Candy Cab and a 60-in-1 cocktail.

I am up to six pinball machines and am hosting the San Diego Pinball Club league on Saturday! :) I have just realized the pinball guys are all on rec.games.pinball. I get such quick and great responses there I don't often post about pinball repairs…

How connect a LCD screen to a jamma board?

Those 60-in-1 boards have a VGA connector on them. They can work with the original CRT or just plug a computer monitor into the VGA port.

CHASING GHOST: BEYOND THE ARCADE - On Showtime

I will admit Mr. Awesome was somewhat entertaining the first time I saw him. Once was enough for me. His act is tired, and I don't care to see it repeated.

Comet: Pinball Repair Log

Update: [6/2/2010] Thanks to help from my wife, my dad, and Brian from HSA Pinball, Comet is complete. Today I leveled the leg levelers, cleaned the playfield, replaced all the rubber rings, and replaced any missing bulbs so it now plays quite nicely.

Hey brian, Iam having a problem with my Super Pac Man power supply. It is blowing the fuse (1/4 amp 250v) at FC1A shown in the pic. I took my VOM and checked the path on a 20k ohm setting and the path from the fuse jumps over to D103 right above the fuse. But when i check the ends of D103 it shows me a Infinate number. Im not sure what D103 is? Is it a Diode ? Would my readings indicate that the path is not complete ? I was expecting 0.00 like when you test a fuse or trace from one end to the next. Or am i not understanding how D103 should be tested ?

Hey Brian, got a little problem with the caps i got from BR. I went to remove one cap and it appears to have three prongs on it where as the new cap has only two. These were the caps Bob said would be for the G05/bally. They even have the same ratings. what do you make of this. All the other work Rectifier/ and transistors are done. This cap problem is the only thing holding me up now.

Hi Brian,

I'll send you photo this week. Any idea what price I should set to sell it?

I love pinball, but work/stay away from town during the week (Riverside, CA) so a weekday is tough for me. I'd love to get a pinball machine, but my 1st would be Addams Family, still pricey, so just vids to date. Keep me posted about future meetups please.

Thanks for the comment. I posted then turned off public viewing. I think I will post in restoration thread to try to be considered for the restoration contest.

Ah, well, I had seen the option in here to add an RSS feed, that is probably the purpose they designed that for....

I will have to do that for my blog.
