The beginning of my gameroom

My wife and I purchased a Pirates of the Caribbean pinball machine for our game room two years ago. I now own a Galaga 3 (Gaplus) cocktail, a Pac-Man, and a Space Invaders Deluxe (SID). The SID need repairs, and will probably be sold off when I am done.

I would love to own a Dragon's Lair someday.

Bummer Brian. I think we all know that feeling. It happened to me twice last month! I invited a couple of pinball friends over recently to play our recent grail pinball purchase, Medieval Madness. A couple of games in they start complaining the ...

You know Bret, I think EMs are more your speed as far as repairs go. No complicated electronics parts to troubleshoot, and replace. I've never worked on EMs (I prefer faster and more complex games of the past 20 years). I suspect you will be more ...

I bet that happens as often as someone finding two pinball machines for free at a garage sale. :-)

A monitor. ;-) Seriously, there isn't anything special about the monitors in cocktail games. The game board does the flipping for you.

Have you considered listing it on eBay? It appears to be in terrific shape, you could list it as Pickup Only, unless you would consider shipping. P.S. The graphics on this game look nice (I found ...

Medieval Madness: Pinball Repair Log

My wife and I are now the proud owner of one of the grail games of pinball collectors: Medieval Madness. We bought it from a game room store on September 3rd, and it ended up having some issues when we got it home. I have been gaining a lot of confidence repairing this machine as all of the issues have been pinpointed withing a couple of hours. So, I am enjoying my time repairing this machine. On the plus side, the machines warranty includes all the parts I need for 90 days.

Comet: Pinball Repair Log

Comet is one of two non functional pinball machines I picked up for at a Garage Sale about two months ago. The other is Space Station (whose repair log is here).

ISSUES

  1. Battery corrosion -- but no leaks.

  2. Display Power Suppl

Hey brian, Iam having a problem with my Super Pac Man power supply. It is blowing the fuse (1/4 amp 250v) at FC1A shown in the pic. I took my VOM and checked the path on a 20k ohm setting and the path from the fuse jumps over to D103 right above the fuse. But when i check the ends of D103 it shows me a Infinate number. Im not sure what D103 is? Is it a Diode ? Would my readings indicate that the path is not complete ? I was expecting 0.00 like when you test a fuse or trace from one end to the next. Or am i not understanding how D103 should be tested ?

Hey Brian, got a little problem with the caps i got from BR. I went to remove one cap and it appears to have three prongs on it where as the new cap has only two. These were the caps Bob said would be for the G05/bally. They even have the same ratings. what do you make of this. All the other work Rectifier/ and transistors are done. This cap problem is the only thing holding me up now.

Hi Brian,

I'll send you photo this week. Any idea what price I should set to sell it?

Wow I'm a stay at home dad with a 10, 5 and 10 month old. All boys. lol. Let's make a day of it. I have a ride on elephant that works. The kids go nuts. I have a pinball gumball machine. I also have a playground horse-you know on the big spring. That was always my favorite. I've got streetfighter ex plus. also a roy clark entertainer cocktail pinball. cool. 2 slot machines. I also have some amazing views. I am 2 minutes off 15 at 76. I drove past Santee twice yesterday for arcade games. I went all the way to Imperial beach. If you can help me out, I'll have the light beer and the food for all.

I love pinball, but work/stay away from town during the week (Riverside, CA) so a weekday is tough for me. I'd love to get a pinball machine, but my 1st would be Addams Family, still pricey, so just vids to date. Keep me posted about future meetups please.
