I know we are in the middle of a contest right now, but I thought of an interesting idea for a contest maybe we could do in the future. How about a contest for most points on level 1, or level 1 through 3? If we made it level 1 only (barrel and rive…
I thought I should work on my hammerless some more and try to solidify my submission. I played a bunch last night and ended up with only climbing 300 points higher! LOL. I also tried using the hammer but my brain was converted to not using it, so I'…
Alrighty! I put several scores in the 40's, 50's and 60K Hammerless tonight... then I did this one. Figured I would take a rest from the most stressful gameplay ever! I will say that hammerless definitely is good practice for barrel control and fire…
Shayne, thank you very much for the 3rd elevator tips! They are invaluable. Last night I played the 3rd and 4th elevator stages a BILLION times trying to get the hang of your technique. Since Mame saves the seeded randomness of the game as well, I r…
Any chance we could extend this competition another week? I've been really sucking at consistently beating the third elevator stage, which just kills you chances of getting anywhere beyond 100,000 or so. I didn't even break 20,000 on hammerless, but…
Oh Yeah, it's ON like Donkey Kong! Good luck everyone.
Hey Paul, I submitted my high score to the previous High Score thread after that contest ended... but it looks like I never got added to the overall high score list. There were several others t…
Oh man I'm rusty... gotta step up my game with only a week to reach critical mass. I've uploaded that MAME DK high score video on my server... it will be up there for a little while. Please don't share it outside of this website, I have limits on my…
John, could you please upload part one of the video again, it's reached 10 downloads on rapidshare which is the free DL limit. You could try uploading.com. Once I get all of these files I'll put them up on my server for awhile. Thanks!
I'm going to be out playing with the family on the 2nd, but that night I could get started. Count me in! Please post official rules as well, if they are different than the previous high score competition. Should we video tape them, or just take pict…
It's been a few weeks since you joined, but regardless - Welcome to CoinOpSpace.com, we're happy you took the time to sign up and at least poke around the site. Did you find the site through Google? Or did you get an invite sent out by another collector asking you to join? I was happy to see you so active on the site and that you were able to participate in the SW chat...
I see that you live in Chicago area Illinois. If you want to use this site to network with other collectors close to you in a location specific group (Buy, Sell, Trade, Meetup), you might try;
Things are structured differently here, it's not just a forum, but so much more powerful than that. If you have any questions about how things work that may not be apparent right away, do drop me a line. If you like the site, do tell your friends about it and help us grow.
Also make sure to check out the usage rules (Located at Pages > Rules) when you get a chance to familiarize yourself with how we expect the site to work. If you have any feedback on the rules - things to add / remove, do let us know. We want this site to be for the collectors.
Hey Brett. Thanks for those tips. I think the straight jump for the hammer on rivet levels is a good tip to add - I use that fairly regularly myself. I don't want to clutter up the guide too much with non-essential tips so I probably won't add the others, but they're still good tips!
The high score contest is still open to all members of the DK group, so please submit a score for that one. The most improved contest required a score to be posted by the end of last month. I may try to do more contests in the future as well.
The DK3 is actually my girlfriend's. I have only reached about 50k or so on it.
Hey Brett,
Check out the Donkey Kong fans group. A couple of the members have written guides that you will enjoy. I saw your question to Steve Wiebe, and you can definitely learn how to get past the elevators from the guides.
Paul
I have never seen anyone list DK3 as a favorite game. What do you like about it? I have one in the garage but rarely play it...what am I missing?
