Hey California people!

Is there anyone in SoCal with a working Joust that would be willing to let me test a couple of board sets in their cab?  My Joust has been down for way too long.  I’ve replaced Ram multiple times, re-flowed solder on the board, Reset chips, put in a switching power supply (even though it seemed that I was getting acceptable voltage from the original PS) and then I finally broke down and paid way too much $ for a “100% working board set” on e-bay.  All the new board set does is come up to a yellow screen.  I’m pulling my hair out.  I would like to know if the boards are the problem as I feel like I’ve eliminated almost everything else (and I’d like to leave appropriate feedback on e-bay about the boards I bought).  If anyone can assist that would be great.  Plus, it would be great to meet a fellow collector in the area.  I’m in Corona.

In addition to Ebay auctions, please consider trying to sell some of your games or parts on ChaseTheChuckwagon.com and then providing links to promote your auctions here.

We are SC3, "Southern California Classic Collectors", your local Classic game collector's group serving the Metropolitan Los Angeles, San Diego and Inland Empire areas. We invite all those who can come to our meetings for play, trade, showing off your precious rares to an appreciative audience, or just to be amongst those who beat you to that Vectrex at one of the local Flea Markets a few months back. Whether you're looking for your first 2600, or an Intellivision Computer Module, or to play 30+ classic arcade games, we'd like to see you there!

The next meeting of the Southern California Classic Collectors is scheduled for Saturday, April 25th! As usual, the party will last from 6:00 p.m. until "sometime after midnight." The location is the same: Steve Hertz's place in Claremont. We hope to see you there!

Last September's meeting was a blast, and we mean that quite literally, since we played tribute to the classic video-games-cause-nuclear-devastation film WarGames at the event. Naturally we're not planning to change our winning formula in April. Expect to once again experience an awesome collection of vintage coin-ops (watch this page to stay up-to-date on what games will be available), classic consoles galore, outdoor video entertainment, and the decibel-laden return of the Guitar Hero/Rock Band Room of Doom!

We've always considered SC3 to be a community, and now we're taking it online. We're proud to announce the SC3 Forum (clever name pending), a new place to get the latest info on future SC3 meets, to tell people what trade bait you're bringing -- and, most importantly, it's the new place to RSVP! If you plan to attend this or any other SC3 get-together, please head over to sc3.oriole.net and register an account. Then, when you want to RSVP for a specific event, go to "User Control Panel," then "Usergroups," and request membership in the "RSVP" group. After that, you'll gain access to important info like directions to the meeting location. (If you need help RSVPing, don't worry -- we'll have instructions posted on the forum, and once you've registered an account there, you can always post a question asking for assistance.)

The SC3 Forum is pretty much brand new at this point so there's not a lot to see there yet. However, we'll be adding stuff to it from now on! Be sure to check sc3.oriole.net regularly for meeting announcements and news.

The last SC3 was amazing with 80+ people attending. Click on the link on how to RSVP and check out our new forum...

Cool. I'll start. Gosh, I'm in SoCal, and I really wish I could find a Twin Cobra, an Ultra High-end MAME system in a Donkey Kong cabinet with an HD monitor with 3,000 games on it, a Pengo with just one side art for $450 that a guy has hit 500k on and no longer feels challenged by, or someone to mod my PSP. I really want these things, but have no idea if I'll every really be able to find those things here in SoCal. Man, tough break for me! ;o) ;o)

I set this up because there is alot of So Cal collectors! We can use this for local craiglist ads and ebay auctions etc or if anyone is selling a game locally.
