Just a note to let everyone know that I got the removed Red Baron sideart in the mail from Jeff today, both of them. I forget how massive this stuff is...

I don't know when I'll be able to scan it....it may not be until around new years day, but if I can get to it before then I will. Should be easy enough, looks like I can scan one side and flip it for use...

Jeff;
I'm glad you received it.
I do believe you are correct, use which side you think is beast and you could just flip the image to use for the other side.
No stress on the time lines as I have no idea when I'll be able to clean it up for the next step.
It will be a vector file when scanned?
Thanks
Jeff

No, the scan is just a scan of the Red Baron sideart. Someone would have to vector trace the artwork. But, the nice thing is that the artwork is really simplistic in the big scheme of things.

I took some time to scan one side today...and kind of rough the scans together. It isn't ready to trace, all of the fine tuning will have to be done....but the scanning should be done.

I am not planning on vectorizing this. Are you thinking you are going to investigate if there is any leftover interest to get this reproduced after Archer made his sideart prints?

this one will be an easy art to trace.

if you eed some help lmk

Jeff P. has this artwork now....so...he said he will pick at it as he has time for free...nice of him to offer to do that.

He's got the base scans and the quickie stitch, if he can even use that.

I guess time really flies when you are having fun!

Now that I have 3 Children running around the house, (well actually 2 "running" as of now), I haven't been around as much as I would like to be, (forums etc.). In fact, I have played a total of 6 games of I,Robot back to back one night, in the entire last 2 weeks! All the games I ever wanted and absolutely no time to play them, ironic - ain't it??

Thanks for running with this project Jeff. I am going to start to get a group of interested collectors together in the coming months and see what the numbers will be to reproduce this art set. Any idea on where the project stands?

Thanks
Jeff

Either of you will want to get in touch with Jeff Phillips and see if he has done anything with the scans I sent him...

As a long overdue update to this....

I think Jeff P. had a hard drive failure and lost what I sent him. I still have the scans.

Jeff had me send the artwork back to him a couple of months ago. He was going to have a print shop vector it and print it I believe...at least that was the idea.

Jeff;
I finally figured out my password - I had 2 computer failures since 9/11, my trusty Xtreme and then the replacement HP dv7 - never buy a HP, tech support is non-existent....I'm using my Dell Inspiron 1100 - it's like 10 years old and still kicking, I'm glad I never got rid of it!
Anyway, life has caught up with me, today is my youngest birthday, 1 year old!
I just did not get the chance to get to the scanner yet. I will do this eventually, I just cannot promise when.
Hopefully by years end.
Jeff

Why do you need to do any scanning?....I have the scans done...and I thought that the print shop was going to do all that anyway?

I am going to bring them to the print shop for scanning as they have the large format scanner and maybe, if the price is right, I'll get a set printed up. Otherwise, I'll have the scan and start the vectorization - eventually.
