I picked up the Q-bert cocktail over the weekend, which I am thrilled about. We booted it up and it turned on, displayed the pyramid and a brief sequence and then went into test mode. Now, I can't seem to get it out of test mode. There is a small switch inside the coin door that has a "test" button as well as a toggle switch that says "game" (up) and "test" (down). Pushing the test button is supposed to scroll through the test options but it does not seem to do anything. And I get no response or change when switching the toggle switch between "game" and "test". I have attached some pics. I am super bummed as I want to send Coily off the pyramid and outsmart Ugg. I am hoping someone has confronted this before and can offer some advice. I started unplugging connectors and plugging them back in, but still no reaction from the game. When we first turned it on I did see Q-bert jump around the pyramid a bit, so I have seen it in other than "test mode" operation, but have not actually played a game. Now only test mode seems to comes up. Thanks in advance for any advice or guidance!
Also, the artwork on top is very nice overall, but does have some cracks. I have heard that they don't make the artwork anymore. There is some moisture that has been trapped between the two pieces of glass that needs to be cleaned out of there, but I am fearful to separate the glass as the cracking will most likely get worse. I have seen some tutorials/info on scanning artwork. Does anyone think that is a good candidate for that? Has anyone scanned artwork through glass? Not sure if it will work, but it seems like it will not need a lot of photoshop (or other program) cleanup if it is possible. I would just rather try to get a backup plan for the artwork before I separate the glass and clean it up. Any ideas?
