Asteroids

Your space craft is dangerously situated among fast moving asteroids in an asteroid belt. Armed with a front mounted weapon and the ability to hyperspace, you destroy each rock one piece at a time. Alien saucers visit the playfield at times.

Does anyone have the roms at K4 and L4? I bought a board years ago (when i picked up my asteroids) and I am just now getting to putting the game together and these are missing on my board.

Arcadeshop sells an Asteroids cocktail monitor bezel for $15 plus shipping (http://arcadeshop.com/parts.htm#Graphics).  All pre-made and ready to go from the looks of it...

Or you could try to build you own as per the instructions here:

'Tis up to you :) .

I have a fantastic Asteroids Cocktail Cabinet. I need to replace the paper bezel inside the machine with something less battered. Does anyone have a printable template? Or better yet is there someone that has a NOS bezel for sale? Thank you!

I enjoy Deluxe much, much more than the original. Everything has been improved:
Asteroids rotate
Ship more detailed
Shield is more useful than Hyperspace by a mile
Killer Satellites prevent prolonged UFO hunting
Takes more skill to master

Just wanted to get some opinions from the group. Who likes Deluxe better than regular Asteroids? I hated Deluxe when it was released (because I couldn't play it for hours on a credit like Asteroids) but I love Deluxe now. Not even close to getting sick of it. Always a challenge, my HS is 104,000, and I don't know anybody who can go for hours on a credit on Deluxe...

Good for you! Mine is dead. Havn't had the time to breathe any life into it. Damn renovations. Maybe this winter i'll be able to work on it a little.

I finally got my Asteroids working this weekend!!! After I had no luck locating a replacement tube or monitor I decided to just rebuild mine and see what happens. I rebuilt and now even with the big black hole in the middle of the screen it's still very playable.
The phosphorus burn is very noticeable and the graphics passing through it do show a little bit dimmer than the rest of the screen but my Asteroids lives - so I'm not complaining. Hopefully some day I'll find a good replacement monitor but until then I'll enjoy this one as it is.

Hi all. We'll this is the game that started it all for me. Not my love of games, but the collecting habit. I never played Asteroids in the arcades when I was a kid. I did get to play it at my uncles house when I was in college. My uncle picked up the game in '88 or '89. Due to my uncles lack of good fortune, divorce almost lost this game. It was the year 1999 at this point and he had moved out, but had not taken all his stuff yet from their house. His now ex wife put it up for sale at her garage sale for $75.00 (fully working might I add). My uncle happened to go the the house that day and saw it and told her she could not sell it. This is where my collecting habit started. He asked me to help him pick up some tables from the house. I asked him if he still had the asteroids game and he said yes. He said he didn't have room for it at his new place so if I wanted it I could have it. So I arranged for a bigger truck and picked up my first game. He still regularly enjoys playing it when he comes over for holidays. I'm not very good at it still so I get my a?? handed to me by a 69 year old man. That was 10 games ago when my collecting started.

It's an early serial number game. 2796. It's in pretty good shape still. It has all the original electronic components in it. They all have the game serial number stamped on them with an ink stamp.

Right now I unfortunately have a Frenzy, ICB and a Asteroids in the garage. And if all goes right I'll have one more out there. Just moved the Mouse Trap to the basement this morning.

Nice Bill, Where'd ya get it?? Did you get that ICB too? I'd like one of those! Maybe you can beat my ass kicking Asteroids high score of 14,500!
