Wtb 720 wiring harness

I'm working on my first restoration and really need to buy a wiring harness as I don't have the skills to make one. Does anyone have an extra they want to part with? Thanks, Jason New Orleans

Where is a good place to find a 720? 3 Replies

I used to play this game all the time and want one for my home. I have been trying to find one locally, but I'm not sure where a good place to look is. Can anyone help me find one for purchase?

Nice 2 be able to say I now have my Grail '720'. As it's an Australian built 720, (ie, Oz built cabinet with original Atari licensed artwork and pcbs), It can't go on the 720 registry. Has Oz 'Leisure and Allied' tags, as opposed to Atari factory ones.

Buying restoration parts as we speak.

Does anyone know if any of these books reference 720?

Jeff, I totally understand focusing on either point of medal score. In fact, I've recently read through your whole site and love it. I had worked out a lot of those strategies on my own but the coping trick was new to me, so thanks for that! How recently did you put that page together? I can't believe I didn't find this stuff until recently. I've been finishing the game since the 90s and I've been an owner since the early 2000s. You can imagine how thrilled I was to find a community of other dedicated enthusiasts. I’m currently fascinated with the World Record. I never knew there was such a thing. My jaw dropped when I heard how high it was. I used to think I was good…

I’m currently working on my medal score because I want to be good at both. And since I currently have the top point score on my machine, I still need to make sure I have the top medal score as well. Once I cross that mark, I’ll go back to focusing on the point score. Plus, I figure all the practice I get in the process will only lend to higher point scores when I shift my focus back.

With regards to the world record:
Personally, I think we should have a conference. Let’s get all the top players together in a conference room and have a melding of the minds. We’ll ship a machine or two. Hook up AV so we can collect video of the screen and joystick. Project it all to a split screen so we can follow the action. We’ll invite John Salwitz and Dave Ralston and whoever else we can find. Get them drunk and steal their secrets.

What’s up with Ron Perelman? Is he out there somewhere?

Hey folks - Good to see some activity here! I'm always happy to know there are people out there with crazy blisters on their hands from working on 720 scoring.

I was making good progress on score quite a while back, but have been away from the game for a long time, and am way out of shape. I topped out at 466K, and just couldn't see how I could bridge the 60K gap between that and the world record.

At any rate, for a high score game, you most definitley have to forego a good metal score. Point score versus metal score are basically two different types of game play on the downhill and slalom parks. Ramp and Jump you play the same of course.

Lot of info on tactics, my theories on the score, and help with the joystick rebuild on my site if you haven't seen it.

I've had a broken 720 for several years. I'm now up and going again. That's mostly due to a new machine. Now I've been playing every night trying to get back some of my old scores.

My current top score is definitely in the ballpark. I got 316K last night and I don't recall ever doing better then 325K so I feel good there. I know I can do better if I sacrifce the medal score a bit. I used to be much more consistent with the medals so I'm working on that score right now. The top medal score on my new machine is 331 and I've gotten close but I keep blowing it at some point. So far I average 300-315. I'm sure it'll come with time.

We are still out here on our virtual shred sticks (or at least I am). I have not played my 720 in a bit, but I may just have to go down there and play a game now. Maybe we should get an ongoing score board going on here so people start playing and posting. I need to do a rebuild on my controller, but I am up for posting scores if others think it will help motivate us all!

It doesn't look like there has been any discussion since 2009. Is anyone still out there? I'm a long time 720 player and an owner as of a few years ago. I just recently found this community. Am I too late to the party? There is a lot of good info here.
