A guy in Detroit listed Champion Pub Pinball machine $1500 OBO!! I called him and he told me the post was only 5 minutes old. As I was talking to him the call waiting was going nuts.. He told me the game will not shoot out the ball to start the game and something was wrong with the fighter. He owned it for 10 years and has been sitting broken for 3 years. I asked what was the best price he would take if I came with cash in hand right now? He told me $1300 cash and carry if I came right now. Dearborn is hour half away from me, plus I had to stop at my bank.
10 minutes later he called me and said he has received over 18 calls since we first talked. Most told him he was asking way to little for it. He told me $1500 is the lowest he would go.. I was a little set back by him changing the deal by $200 but what the hell, it is still a great deal. I told him fine but I did not want anymore surprises. He promised it to me at $1500 even if someone offered him more.
I arrived there and this thing was prestine condition, cabinet and playfield wise. He told me that he has received almost 40 more phone calls and offers of higher then $1500. Just pisses me off when someone calls on a pinball and if its sold he tells the seller he could have got much more. Would that same caller of told him that if it was still for sale? Doubt it very much. I will posts pics later today.

Nice deal! It's always cool, and a little surprising, when a CL seller sticks to his original deal even though he had higher offers. Got my Flip Flop for $100 even though the seller also told me he had over 40 higher offers when I picked it up. That's not even a very desirable pin... There are still people with integrity out there.

Yes, there are alot with integrity. We unfortunally have a bunch of idiots that collect pinballs in my state especially around the Detroit area. Dont get me wrong, there are alot of decent collectors as well. We just seem to have more knuckleheads then most. :)

I have never seen that pin before. That is definitely a really cool machine, and it looks like it is practically new! Nice score.

That was a good price on a CP. I think the last CP I bought was $1800. CP is a WPC95 game and it's one of the cheaper WPC95 games. Junkyard is also a WPC95 game and it's in the same price range. CP, JY, NGG and NBAFB are what they call "B" title games. The other WPC95 games are "A" titles (like MM=Medieval Madness, MB=Monster Bash, AFM=Attack from Mars, CV=Cirqus Voltaire, CC=Cactus Canyon, SS=Scared Stiff, SC=Safecracker) are they are hard to find for under $3000. Some games like MM and CC are hard to find for under $5k.

True but CP they only made 1300 of them compared to roughly 3000 of Junkyard and NGG. I sold it last week for $2500. I had at least 3 offers over $2200 I turned down. CP is a pin where you either love it or hate it. I thought it was a cool pin its just the ball got hung up to many times and I could see where you could get bored of it fast. I never have played Junkyard or NGG so I cant give a fair comparson. It was fully working and shopped to the hilt when I sold it.

I enjoyed Junkyard more than Champion Pub but I have also sold both of them since it was not my cup of tea. I also parted out a NBAFB to help save a Monster Bash game.

I own most of the other WPC95 games (MM, MB, SC, CV, AFM, SC).

The problem with pinball production numbers is that a lot of them are wrong. I have come across a lot of CP and I hardly ever find Safecrackers. The production numbers on SC is almost the same as CP. I spoke to Pat Lawler (Addams Family, Twilight Zone, NGG game designer) and he told me that production numbers are not usually correct. They made a lot more TZ's than the production numbers said they made. This is also true on several other games.

Well that could be true, I can only go by whats in the book. You are right there seems to be more CP out there then Safecrackers. Then again people could just be keeping the Safecracker and not selling them..
