the monitor is giving up. it needs a new cap kit fitted but sadly i live in rip off britain and the cost is prohibitive. i am looking for someone in the uk to take it on and restore it but no luck as yet. BEST ARCADE MACHINE EVER THOUGH!!!

Just a cap kit? I know not everyone feels that they have the ability to cap a monitor but believe me this is truly not a hard thing to do. You mention that it is cost prohibitive. Do you mean what it would cost to pay someone to do this for you? I can't imagine capacitors and the basic tools for soldering would be too expensive. It seems it would be a shame to let this machine die just because the monitor needs to be capped.I'm sure we can walk you through how to do this if you are unsure of your ability.

i thought about doing it myself but i looked at a couple of websites and it can be quite dangerous apparently. a second fault has developed now as well and the top monitor and sound have given up but this may just be a power supply issue

i'm still gutted about having let it go but at least the games are going to people who are able to get some use out of them.

back to playing the old nes i suppose :(
