Why wait for CAX 2010 to enjoy Time Traveler from Sega - when you can plop one down in your game room today?

Bookends nice with my Dragon's Lair - and it's the best looking one (except for the stickers which are on order) I've seen in a while and works great.

Wow that is so cool. I never seen one of these before. Now if they could just reproduce that hologram chess game from Star Wars lol

I'm with shane... Why no Hologram chess game!!!

Very cool. Can't wait to see it at CAX (assuming everything goes as planned seeing I'm coming from MI).

That is very cool. I have never seen one of these in person, but they always look really cool in pictures. Not really sure what the game play is like, I will have to do some reading up on it. But regardless, that is one very cool and unique piece for the gameroom! Maybe if you have games like this to play, you will not keep putting up the high scores on Robotron and I can catch up!

I had two TT, sold one and parted one out. Cool looking game but the game play gets old fast. Game takes up a lot of floor space but it does come apart easy to transport.

TT does not really produce holograms. It actually has a 20" monitor in the bottom of the cabinet and a weird curved mirror.

There was one in the center of my local arcade. It was 50c to play so I didn't play that much, but I do remember thinking this was going to be the future of arcades. I remember thinking it really did look like a hologram. They converted it to another game later but I can't remember the name.

An epiphany in your statement is that "Arcades" sadly, never really had a "future" as they were intended to be : ( And even more, i dont think they were intended to last long anyways.

The games they converted to were "Holoseum", an otherwise forgettable fighter game:

Only thing good about the game is it removed more Time Travelers from the collectors market - and with (my own (guess)estimate based on reported sales) only 2500 built, it explains why good specimens (that weren't converted) are more rare than hen's teeth and haven't been seen in the wild much. They sold for 7,000 in 1991 - which would be equal to 10-grand in today's dollars.

I'd only consider a trade for something equally unique since I'd only want similar rarity / novelty as a replacement. Like Revenge from Mars or something.

And that's a long-shot since it's growing on me now that it's cleaning up nicely (tank-vac-ing 19 years of dust) and some finishing parts are being ordered (everything works but why put up with old buttons etc). Now I just need a molex pin extractor - pin 13 on J1 I noticed is a little loose, and my previous geek neighbors are 900 miles away.

That's not only computer space - that's computer space number one.

I'd be surprised if Jerry Jessop is looking to trade his unit, but I get your point of holding out for something unique.
