Here is an AFM playfield I just finished for someone.  The first picture is the completed playfield showing the clearcoat.  The remaining pictures are the before and after pictures.

very nice... do you repaint the whole thing?

Areas that have damage are masked off and each color is airbrushed. There is about 20 hours of repair into this playfield.

great, thanks for the tip and VERY nice work.

I have a very small area of wear (all same color) on an otherwise beautiful playfield I had been trying to fix, I didn't even think about masking off and using an airbrush, I had been trying to fix by hand... which didn't work... now I just need an airbrush, but I have an artist friend that I could probably borrow one from!

Thanks Ted. You need to add a pinball machine to your collection now. -Brian-

I agree very good work. It takes much more then just an air brush to restore a PF. You also need the be an artist as well.

And it helps that you have a $40,000 automotive spray booth at your disposal. I would never clear coat in an attached garage. My wife would kill me. Automotive clear coating is a bad idea in your own personal garage.

Hey Brian, is there a specific brand of paint that you use for your airbrush on playfields?
thanks in advance!

No specific brand of paint. Actually use different brands depending on the colors. Since I do use automotive 3-part clear coat you need to make sure that the paint you use is compatible with the clear. Enamels are not compatible with automotive clear coating.
